About Us

Adam Larson, Founding Partner

Adam brings over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on net zero and Passive House building. He has owned and operated two companies, Green Door Builders and Lahnert Larson Design Fabrication.

He spent 15 years collaborating with Habitat Studio and Workshop, contributing to the delivery of their respected architectural work. Over time, Adam has built a strong reputation for his ability to design and execute complex architectural components with precision and care.

In addition to his construction work, Adam is an accomplished craftsperson who designs and builds studio-grade furniture.

He is a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter and a graduate of the Inside Passage School of Woodworking.

Matthias Kroller, Founding Partner

Matthias brings over a decade of experience managing residential and commercial construction projects. Before co-founding Zu House, he operated Kroller Built Construction, specializing in renovations, structural work, and building exteriors. Known for its craftsmanship and transparent approach, Kroller Built developed a loyal client base.

He has held leadership roles with a mid-sized commercial construction firm and with a respected home builder focused on energy-efficient design. These experiences shaped his ability to manage complex projects while maintaining a high standard of quality and communication.

Matthias is a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter and a graduate of the NAIT Carpentry program. He also holds a BA from the University of Alberta.

Fluent in German, Matthias is committed to delivering homes where every client can feel truly “zu Hause.”
